Holy Baptism

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born of water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
(Gospel of Saint John Chapter 3 verse 5)

Baptism is the first of all the Sacraments we receive.
In the Catechism we read:

1213 "Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to other Sacraments" .

As Baptism is the basis of Christian life (and because Jesus told us that Baptism is necessary!) we baptise children as soon as possible so that they may begin to live a Christian life.
If an adult converts and comes to the faith later on in life, they must also receive Baptism. So here in the Parish we have two types of Baptism Preparation, one for infants / children under the age of 7 and the second is for adults:

Infant / Child Baptsim enrolment

Infant/child baptism: a new baptism preparation course begins every three months. If you would like to enrol on the next session, please complete the enrolment form:

Adult Baptism

Adults are only baptised once per year and this takes place during the Easter Vigil Mass.
Preparation for Adult Baptism takes place for 6 months before and 6 months after Baptism. If you would like to find out more, please email Father John.
